Newspaper subscriptions are available at the front desk. Most magazines are kept on a spinning rack in the reading area.  If you do not see one listed, ask at the front desk. They are not available for checkout.

Curbside service is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for checking out books or picking up reserves.

Our new drive up book drop on 3rd Street is available 24 hours and checked twice daily by staff members during regular business days.

Internet access is available to patrons with permanent Long Beach Public Library cards or 3 month temporary cards.  Patron computers are available in both wings of the library.  Click here to view the Computer and Internet Use Policy.

Our database can be accessed online or from any mobile device as well.

Our copy machine houses paper sizes 8 1/2 x 11 and is capable of enlargements, and double sided copies. Copies are .20 each. (.40 for double sided copies).

Our fax machine is available for public use. Faxes cost $1.00 per page to send, and .50 a page to receive.

Patron computers in both wings are connected to a printer at the front desk that can print in both color (.30 per page) or in black and white (.20 per page) at the patron’s choice.

The Friends of the Long Beach Public Library hold group meetings quarterly from September to May.  Membership is $10.00 per year (active or inactive), and membership dues go to support the library.

The Long Beach Public Library Board of Trustees meet quarterly at 3:30 pm at the Long Beach Public Library on the 2nd Tuesday of the following months : January, April, July, and October.  These meetings are open to the public to attend.

Preschool Story time is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am.  Monthly events are posted on the library’s website and Facebook page.

Family Movie Day is held on one Saturday of each month at 10:00 am in the children’s wing.  It is a free event and open to the public.  Check the calendar or Facebook page to see which movie is scheduled for the month.

Held in June of each year, the Summer Reading Program promotes reading and weekly activities planned for children who are preschool aged,  those entering grades K – 5, teens, and family events.
